Color

The purpose of this assignment was to listen to music the teacher plays and then paint what you felt as the music was playing. 


As I was doing this assignment the music that was played was very interesting, because it was not your typical music. The first picture you see we were asked while listening to the music to pick a shape and use it small, medium, and big. We were asked to use complementary colors while using the shapes and then at the end we were able to add another color that we thought would be a good contrast to the piece without overwhelming the original two complementary colors. 


The second piece we were asked to only use black and white colors while listening to the music. The music was again interesting and not the original kind of music you would choose to listen to on a daily basis. This music had specific beats that would stand out which is indicated by quick dots and splashes of paint on the paper. Then there were moments where the music seemed to flow and combine the beats which gives the grey lines shown above.
