Internal Texture- Water color Techniques

The purpose of this assignment was to paint non-objectively. The instructor had every student bring in a food for the class to share and then we were able to eat the food and then paint with watercolors what we tasted. We were encouraged while completing this assignment to explore using different techniques with the watercolors such as seeing what happens when you sprinkle salt over the painting, using wax, wet on wet technique, painting the color onto dry paper, and using shrink wrap to achieve these different textures.

The foods I used to complete this assignment were:
1. Sweedish Fish (top left)
2. Chocolate No Bake Cookies (upper middle)
3. Cheetos (top right)
4. Tootsie Rolls (bottom left)
5. Chips and Salsa (lower middle)
6. Lays Potato Chips (bottom right)

I really enjoyed doing this assignment, mainly because it was associated with food, but it was very fun to see the different techniques you can use with water colors, and being creative with painting what you taste non-objectively.
