Georgia O'Keefe Flowers

This assignment our instructor brought in all different types of flowers. She gave us a back ground of Georgia O'Keefe and how she is famous for her portraits of flowers painted in water color. To complete this assignment we were to cut out a small one by one square on a piece of paper to help our focus when looking at the flower. Then we were to draw the flower pretty large on a watercolor canvas and then paint the flower in watercolors.

For this assignment I really enjoyed working with watercolors. In order to get the color I needed for creating my flower I needed to mix the water colors together to create a new color. I mixed reds and purples to put for the shading of my flower and to add some depth. I was really pleased with how it turned out!
